Hello. I’m Jennifer Sprinks and I’m a health journalist who has developed a love for picture book writing through reading many wonderful stories with my children. I want to write children’s books to help keep imagination alive in young minds while also helping encourage children to read.

My debut picture book, Furiosaurus the angry dinosaur, was written during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way of helping young children to cope with and understand their feelings of anger.

My second title Mouse in my Mouth was released on 28 September 2024.

Mouse in my Mouth tells the story of a little boy who can’t work out why he hears a squeaking sound every time he brushes his teeth. He wonders whether there’s a creature in his mouth and ponders some of the animals it could be. He rules each one out and eventually comes to realise the sound he hears is that of a mouse because his teeth are squeaky clean from the excellent brushing he has done.

A must-have book for all parents feeling at their wits’ end trying to get their little ones to brush their teeth.
